Atton Brickell Miami Hotel, a VRV success story!
The Atton Brickell Miami Hotel, the first U.S. property opened by the Chilean hospitality company, is a 15-story “smart” hotel located in the heart of Downtown Miami that was designed for the savvy business traveler. It was originally conceptualized with a traditional chilled water system to condition its guest rooms and common areas. After several meetings with our sales team, the owners, the Miami-based Architect Revuelta Architecture and the MEP Consultant Jose Puig, decided to base the final design on a Daikin VRV system.

The system chosen was an air cooled Daikin VRV Heat Recovery system which gave the individual hotel guest the freedom to independently control their room environment by putting the system in either cooling or heating at the flip of a switch on the room controller. Yasir Khan, Vice President of Good Air, Inc. the project’s mechanical contractor said, he was “very excited to be part of a progressive construction team that saw the value of going with a lower life cycle cost system, that occupied less real estate, and lowered the overall cost of construction due to the elimination of resistance heating, rooftop structural supports for the chilled water system, and a separate building automation system required by the original design.
